Yantao Cui
Senior Hydraulic Engineer
Yantao specializes in hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, sediment transport modeling, and geomorphic assessment. Over the years, Yantao has worked on some of the world’s largest river projects, including research on the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in China (the largest dam in the world); sediment transport modeling and sediment related assessments in Ok Tedi and Fly River system, Papua New Guinea (one of the largest human-induced sediment release to rivers); and sediment transport modeling and geomorphic assessment upon the removal of Marmot Dam, Sandy River, Oregon (the largest sediment release caused by dam removal at the time the dam was removed). Yantao is the author and coauthor of more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and is the author of several sediment transport models, including those published in peer-reviewed journals (i.e., DREAM-1, DREAM-2 and TUGS).
