Shayda Abidi
Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist
Shayda is a wildlife and fisheries biologist in Stillwater’s Arcata office. She has an interest in all manner of critters, but most notably salmonids, herpetofauna, birds, bats, and has a passion for habitat restoration in riverine ecosystems. Shayda’s professional technical experience includes conducting fisheries, wildlife, botanical, and construction monitoring surveys in various coastal and inland habitats. She believes in the power of weaving traditional ecological knowledge and western science together to find solutions for complex socio-ecological issues in the natural world. When she’s not in the field, she enjoys riding her bike, backpacking, reading, baking, volunteering in her community, playing in rivers, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
Education: B.S., Zoology with a minor in Botany
