Senior River Scientist/Restoration Engineer
Julie is a senior project manager, water resource engineer, and a registered professional engineer in Colorado with over 20 years of experience in river restoration and engineering to support ecological, development, and redevelopment projects. Julie has a long history of advocating for Colorado’s riparian areas and has worked on a broad range of restoration projects across the intermountain west that include stable channel design, streambed and bank stabilization, bioengineering and biotechnical treatments, instream structures, wetland and riparian habitat improvement, floodplain analyses and permitting, surface water control, and erosion and sedimentation control. Julie is helping innovate and forward the science of river restoration through solutions that jointly reduce flood and geomorphic risk and improve stream health to increase the resiliency of river systems challenged by today’s reality of myriad and unavoidable constraints.
