Joel specializes in watershed restoration and rural infrastructure planning, design, and implementation through the integration of civil engineering, geology, geomorphology, and hydrology. He has extensive experience overseeing broad initiatives in the Mattole and Eel River watersheds as well as projects throughout California. Joel joined Stillwater in 2014 to expand our capabilities into the restoration design and implementation realm, incorporating leading edge science to create innovative engineering designs for fish passage, instream and off-channel habitat restoration, and flow enhancement projects. He combines field and regulatory experience with expertise in CAD, GIS, and modeling software bringing a broad watershed-scale vision to site-specific implementation. In his free time, Joel enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two young children.
