Dirk Pedersen
Senior Fisheries Biologist
Dirk specializes in assessing watershed processes, their influence on aquatic and riparian habitat conditions, and the population effects on fish and other aquatic species in natural, managed, and disturbed systems. His experience stems from applying a multidisciplinary approach linking physical, ecological, and biological processes at the watershed, reach, and site-specific scales, to answer questions for hydroelectric project relicensing, watershed analysis, limiting factors analysis, environmental impact assessment, habitat enhancement, and river restoration. His current work involves hydroelectric project licensing and license implementation, instream flow studies, salmonid limiting factors analyses, reservoir predation studies, stream and reservoir habitat enhancements, and ecological monitoring. During his free time, Dirk enjoys outdoor activities with his family including hiking, biking, camping, and fishing.
