Cameron McLaughlin
Staff Scientist
Cameron grew up in Northern California exploring the Sierra Nevada, where he found his passion for investigating the intersections of ecology and hydrology in the West. He earned his B.S in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability from Colorado State University, where he worked as both an Analytical Chemistry Assistant and a Field Ecology Crew Lead. During summers, he traveled across the Western U.S., helping design and implement many study protocols—from botany surveys for remote sensing to forest fire carbon surveys. During his free time, Cameron enjoys hiking, backpacking, and swimming in any lake or river he can. He tries to follow a lesson his hydrology professor taught him: that you must swim in a waterbody to truly understand it.
