James joins Stillwater Sciences as a licensed Civil Engineer in the state of California and a licensed Land Surveyor in the states of California and Oregon. With over 30 years in the profession, he has served as Principal and/or Department Manager for 20 years. James served as Associate Professor for over three years teaching Engineering and Surveying courses at California State University Chico, Butte-Glenn Community College, and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. James’ current professional focus is land surveying, utilizing tools to provide accurate and succinct depiction of topography and boundary relocation and working to increase the use of remote sensing in surveying products. His personal life consists of surfing, blacksmithing, pottery, and taking the puppies to the beach. He is excited to join the Stillwater team to continue his education.
