Dirk specializes in assessing hillslope and fluvial processes, their influence on aquatic ecology and habitat conditions, and the population effects on fish and other aquatic species. His experience stems from interdisciplinary problem solving at the watershed to site-specific scale for hydroelectric project relicensing, watershed analysis, limiting factors analysis, environmental impact assessment, and river restoration. His current work involves hydroelectric relicensing, instream flow studies, salmonid limiting factors analyses, reservoir predation studies, and stream habitat enhancement. During his free time, Dirk enjoys outdoor activities with his family, including hiking, biking, camping, and fishing.
