Dennis has been involved in the fisheries field for nearly 30 years as a commercial fisherman, owner/operator of an oyster mariculture operation, and consulting biologist. He has extensive experience in timberland management, fish habitat and impact assessment, fish species composition and distribution, downstream migrant fish trapping, electrofishing studies, riparian condition surveys, water temperature monitoring, road-related erosion and sediment source inventories, and culvert fish passage risk analysis. He has conducted surveys for several fish species, birds, and amphibians; has been the lead fisheries analyst for multiple federal and private watershed analyses; has participated in development of Multi-Species HCPs, and has contributed to numerous CEQA/NEPA documents. Additionally, he has participated in several ESA section 7 consultations with the Army Corps and NMFS for Clean Water Act 404 permit processes.
