Emmalien is a Humboldt State University graduate with a B.S. in both Botany and Environmental Biology. Her botanical training and emphasis includes Pacific Northwest plant, fungal, lichen, bryophyte, and forest pathogen identification. Emmalien has conducted special-status vascular and non-vascular plant species research and surveys as well as surveying and mapping invasive plant species in Oregon and California. She has worked on projects involving the monitoring of riparian restoration sites, and has assisted with technical writing and report production. She also received wetland delineation training through San Francisco State University and has completed delineations within Californian bay and riparian ecosystems. When she isn’t at work she enjoys being crafty and has an annual booth showing off her wares at the Benbow Summer Art’s and Music Festival.
