Dr. Booth presents Sespe Creek findings to Ventura County

The Ventura County Task Force of the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project met Thursday, November 13, 2008, at the Ventura County Government Center in Ventura.  Martin Ruane, a biologist with the US Navy, provided an overview of Point Mugu Reserve and the work that the Navy is doing to enhance endangered species habitat at the reserve.  In addition, Derek Booth, the president of Stillwater Sciences and a senior geologist with the firm, gave a presentation about the watershed characteristics, fire history, and hillslope and geomorphic processes of the Sespe Creek watershed, and discussed how impacts from the 2006 Day Fire might influence sedimentation in lower Sespe Creek.
