Stillwater joins the Los Angeles Biodiversity Expert Council

Stillwater Sciences is pleased to join the City of Los Angeles’ Biodiversity Expert Council.  Wendy Katagi (Senior Manager, Watershed and Ecosystem Restoration Services) and Dr. Bruce Orr (Senior Ecologist and Vice President) are looking forward to working with the Council to develop strategies towards restoring ecosystems and the LA Biodiversity Index.

This panel brings together key scientists in Southern California to ensure a solid understanding of the status, risks, and restoration options for enhancing the region’s biodiversity.  Stillwater plans to share our expertise and data with the City to help them obtain these goals. Stillwater’s staff have worked on aquatic, riverine, and fisheries projects from conceptual level to design phases (including detailed and final design, CEQA, and permitting) and construction monitoring phases, on recovery plan actions, and on implementation projects both in the greater Los Angeles region and throughout California.

Stillwater brings relevant expertise in ecosystem restoration and fisheries; aquatic and riverine sciences; endangered species recovery planning and implementation; wetlands and riparian ecosystems; watershed planning and assessment; invasive species management; recreation and trail multi-use planning; geomorphology; hydrology, hydraulics and sediment management; integrated design and engineering; and water resource management. We are looking forward to working closely with the Biodiversity Council to enhance biodiversity and sustainability in Los Angeles.
