Entry-Level Aquatic Ecologist
Position: Entry-level Fish Biologist/Ecologist

Stillwater Sciences seeks a motivated aquatic ecologist for our Berkeley or Davis, California offices to provide project support for riverine and wetland studies throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.
The scientist will be responsible for:
- Participating in interdisciplinary teams for watershed assessment, resource inventory, impact analysis, and natural resource management planning projects;
- Implementation of study designs for interdisciplinary aquatic ecology projects;
- Collection and analysis of field data and analytical tasks related to aquatic ecology, fisheries biology, water quality, geomorphology, and hydrology;
- Data management, quality assurance, and data analysis;
- Project management and analytical support to senior staff;
- Conducting literature and database searches;
- Writing and formatting technical report and proposal sections.
Qualified applicants should possess:
- B.S. in aquatic or environmental sciences;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to organize resources, prepare and/or execute detailed sampling plans, analyze data and confidently interact with staff and agency representatives;
- Experience working in the environmental field;
- Experience with one or more of the following: water chemistry, in-situ water quality instrumentation and sample collection, GIS, fisheries assessment, hydrologic measurements, aquatic habitat assessment, instream flow studies, macroinvertebrate community evaluation, environmental compliance documentation;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Moderate to advanced skill with MS Excel spreadsheets;
- Experience with MS Word and PowerPoint.
